NWCUA Room Block

The Northwest Credit Union Association Room Block for CUNA’s GAC Open and Filling Up Fast

2012 is fast approaching and just beyond that, CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference. If you have not yet reserved your hotel room through the Association’s room block, please do so soon. The conference is scheduled to run from Sunday, March 18 to Thursday, March 22, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Click here to download a draft schedule from our website.

This year the NWCUA room block will be at the Grand Hyatt Washington located at 1000 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. The rate will be $326 plus 14.5% tax. The hotel is within walking distance of the Washington Convention Center but also on the CUNA shuttle bus route providing transportation to and from the convention center. There are multiple dining options located within the hotel including a Starbucks, and the hotel has in-lobby access to the Metro.

To make a reservation, go to the conference housing website, search for your state and when prompted enter “Alpha2012” as the password. If you’d rather make your reservations over the phone, you may call (800) 974-3084 but please be sure you request to make your reservation through the OR/WA room block.

There is a $275 per room deposit required for all reservations at the time of booking. Your credit card will be charged and the room confirmation will come directly via e-mail from the Housing Bureau. A limit of 10 room reservations per call or online order will apply.

Reservations cancelled by Tuesday, January 31, 2012, will receive their full deposit back. For reservations cancelled on and after February 1, 2012, there is a $275 cancellation fee per room.

The $326 rate is good between Friday, March 16 and Thursday, March 22, 2012. If you request nights outside of this range, you will be put on a waiting list until availability for those nights can be confirmed but weekends are generally low traffic times in D.C.

The cutoff date for being included in the room block is Wednesday, February 15, 2012. After that date, all reservations will be accepted on a space available basis and subject to current rate availability.

If you need more information, please contact Mark Minickiello, VP Legislative Affairs, at (206) 340-4812 or by e-mail at mminickiello@nwcua.org.
